May 10, 2016 Lily Pezzee Testimony

My name is Lily Pezzee and I am a 7th grader at Leota Jr. High. I believe that the challenge program should continue in the Middle schools. Each student should be able to take challenge classes or not take challenge classes if that is not what they want. So, why hasn't the district included kids in this decision. We are the ones who would be most affected by the challenge decision. So why aren't we having this issue brought to the attention of all students? Most of us students only know of this problem because our parents told us about it. So now I ask that you keep self select challenge and involve students in later decisions involving it.
